Whether it is a community building, religious centre or public building, the wealth of experience and technical skills shine when one comes upon a Yee designed structure.
With over 35 years of experience, Cory D. Yee continues to influence architecture in Edmonton by using a unique design approach. Educated in Manitoba during the 1980s, Yee’s designs have ranged from educational, commercial and cultural buildings which are integrated into community needs and programming requirements. The emphasis of straight lines and rigid points allows for Yee designed buildings to stand out amongst the myriad of structures in Edmonton.
By creating designs based on usage requirements, sustainability and energy-focus Cory D. Yee has continued to create welcoming spaces in Edmonton and area. Some of his firm’s most notable works include the Alexis Nakota School, Saddle Lake Cree Nation Community Hall, Fort Edmonton Park’s Administration building. Other notable designs include religious buildings like the Riverbend United Church, Holy Trinity Anglican Church and the Chinese Catholic Parish.
With numerous designs and submissions accepted by the Edmonton Design Committee, including those emphasizing LEEDs design, Yee continues to be a leader in local design. Awards and recognitions include Mayoral recognition, Provincial designations and international exhibition credits.
